Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi met MPs to discuss strengthening state support for internally displaced people.

Following the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed ministries to prepare a package of Government measures without delay, together with detailed costings for their implementation.

“It is important to agree the package with MPs so that the Government and Parliament act in a coordinated way on this issue,” the Prime Minister said.

All data on temporary accommodation will be consolidated following the meeting. Around 78,000 places have currently been identified.

“We must quickly establish a complete and accurate picture of how many places are genuinely available and whether they are suitable for families, including people with limited mobility,” Sergii Koretskyi emphasised.

Participants also discussed introducing a one-stop housing service.

“People should need to approach the state only once to receive a comprehensive list of the options available to them, from private rentals and social housing to compensation for a destroyed home. They should not have to go through the same procedures again for every programme,” the Prime Minister stressed.

Sergii Koretskyi thanked the Office of the President, MPs, Government officials and everyone who took part in the discussion for their concrete proposals and constructive approach.
