Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi congratulated railway workers on their professional holiday.

"I thank every one of you: train drivers, conductors, dispatchers, repair crews, power engineers, and everyone who keeps the railway running every day," the Head of Government said. "During the war, the train has become a way for millions of Ukrainians to evacuate, return home and travel to see loved ones at the front. Thanks to you, the economy and critical infrastructure keep working."

The Prime Minister stressed that this takes hard work every day. Russia is deliberately targeting the railway: locomotives, carriages, stations and tracks.

"Since the beginning of this year, there have been more than 2,000 such attacks, and more than 6,600 since the start of the full-scale invasion. 1,220 railway workers have been killed. We remember every one of them," Sergii Koretskyi said. "Thank you for your courage, responsibility and professionalism."
