An industrial visa-free regime with the European Union, that is, the signing of the ACAA Agreement (Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Goods), proves possible in 2020. Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze stressed during a meeting with students and academic staff of Chernivtsi Trade and Economic Institute of the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics.
"I believe that the Eurointegration bill on market surveillance registered the day before yesterday will be approved by the MPs in April immediately after approval of the draft law on secondary education. Accordingly, after that, the EU should take a decision on sending an assessment mission, which will make it possible to sign the ACAA in 2020", said the Deputy Prime Minister.
At the same time, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze expressed regret that three weeks before the Verkhovna Rada had failed to vote on draft law No. 6235 regarding the aligning of national legislation in the area of technical regulations and conformity assessment with the laws of the European Union.
The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that, with the active involvement of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, preparation for the conclusion of the Agreement will accelerate.
She also noted that Ukraine had already achieved technical compatibility with the EU in three priority industrial sectors of the economy. The next step is to work towards achieving such compatibility in other sectors as well.
Recognition of the parity of the Ukrainian system of technical regulation and conformity assessment with European system will greatly simplify the export of industrial products to the EU, inter alia, producers will be able to obtain the necessary certificates in Ukraine.
