The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with the Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas.

The Head of Government congratulated the Reverend Msgr. Visvaldas Kulbokas on his appointment.

"I hope that your appointment will strengthen our cultural cooperation and give more understanding about Ukraine and Ukrainians, about aggression by the Russian Federation and the problems caused by the occupation of Ukrainian territories. It is important for us to show Ukraine and demonstrate that we are open to cooperation in various areas," stressed Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister noted that this year he had had a very constructive and warm meeting with His Holiness Pope Francis, with whom he had discussed practical issues. The Head of Government expressed confidence that cooperation between Ukraine and the Holy See will further develop.
