Prime Minister discussed common partnership goals with UN representatives

A meeting of the High-Level Steering Committee for the Implementation of the Framework Program of Partnership between the Government of Ukraine and the United Nations for 2018-2022 was held with the participation of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The participants of the meeting discussed the main results of the implementation of the Framework Program and the planned measures to ensure the achievement of the set common partnership goals.

The Prime Minister noted the importance of cooperation with UN organizations in the implementation of key reforms such as the fight against corruption, judicial reform, decentralization, health care, social protection and education.

"We appreciate the activities of the United Nations within the framework of international technical assistance provided to Ukraine. Currently, in Ukraine 10 projects with a total estimated cost of over USD 125 million are successfully implemented. Consistent political support from the UN and the provision of technical, expert and financial assistance play an important role in implementing reforms and ensuring stability in Ukraine," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Head of Government thanked the UN for its assistance to Ukraine in pursuing the path of reforms, as well as assistance and support in the fight against COVID-19.

The meeting was attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani, representatives of UN organizations as well as the Government of Ukraine.
