On April 21, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held an online meeting with the Senior Vice President, Operation, at the International Finance Corporation Stephanie von Friedeburg. The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects, as well as the development of cooperation between IFC and local governance.

Denys Shmyhal noted that due to the consulting and financial support of the International Finance Corporation, work is underway to implement projects to finance energy efficiency and renewable energy, development of the banking sector and agribusiness.

"We are interested in expanding the horizons of our cooperation. We hope that our common intentions will be embodied in new projects using public-private partnership instruments, in particular in the fields of energy and medicine," the Head of Government said.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that he supports the intensification of IFC cooperation at the regional level.

"Today we already have several cities that are leaders in this cooperation. However, we also have cities that have extremely good conditions for leveraging investment, upgrading infrastructure, including in the transport and municipal sectors. All those are possible thanks to the decentralization reform when cities begin to learn to manage their resources and their capabilities," the Head of Government said.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that he relies on further expanding the direct funding by the IFC of local authorities.
