  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of April 22, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 16,235 (663 children out of this number, 319 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 415,784.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 491,877 people have been vaccinated. On April 21, 2021, 14,044 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 3,855 people got CoviShield vaccine, 5,611 – CoronaVac vaccine, 4,578 – Comirnaty vaccine.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3,904 persons, 470 patients died, 18,831 persons recovered. There have been conducted 101,981 testing (46,516 using the PCR method, 17,644 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 37,821).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 1,990,353 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1,533,303 people recovered;
    • 41,266 people died;
    • 9,089,301 testings have been conducted.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
