Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko met with the IMF mission led by Gavin Gray

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko held an important meeting with the International Monetary Fund mission, which is working in Kyiv this week under the leadership of IMF Mission chief for Ukraine, Gavin Gray. The main goal of the mission is to work with the Government and the National Bank on a new Extended Fund Facility for 2026–2029. This program is key to supporting Ukraine's macrofinancial stability amid russia's full-scale aggression.

During the meeting, the Government presented an action plan to reboot the energy sector management system. In particular, this involves launching a competition for a new supervisory board for NNEGC “Energoatom” and starting its full audit. At the same time, competitions for management positions in all key state-owned energy companies are continuing.

The draft State Budget for 2026, which has already been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada, was a separate topic of discussion. The adoption of the budget is a prerequisite for the approval of the new Program. The Ukrainian side and the IMF expressed their shared hope that the vote on the document would take place no later than December 2.

“We must do everything required to ensure proper funding for Ukraine's defense and social needs from the very beginning of the first quarter of 2026,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Yulia Svyrydenko thanked the IMF team for their reliable cooperation and constant support for Ukraine in the context of martial law.
