On 28 January, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting on the recovery of the housing sector and the stimulation of mortgage lending.

The event brought together First Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba, Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the heads of the State Agency for Restoration and Ukrfinzhytlo.

‘Thanks to the eOselia affordable mortgage programme, 15,000 Ukrainian families have already purchased housing. In particular, these are families of military personnel, doctors and teachers. This demonstrates the importance of implementing such initiatives, so in 2025 we will continue to finance those," stressed Denys Shmyhal.

The participants of the meeting discussed the development of housing market financing instruments and the development of the State Strategy for Housing Policy in Ukraine.

"As a result of russia's full-scale aggression, 10% of the housing stock was either destroyed or damaged. Therefore, we need to develop solutions aimed at increasing the housing stock," the Prime Minister emphasised.

Following the discussion, the responsible agencies were instructed to develop effective mechanisms to stimulate housing construction, which in turn will help as many Ukrainian families as possible to purchase housing on favourable terms.
