Strengthening hospitals’ energy independence under the Ray of Hope project: since the year's start, 43 healthcare facilities have launched independent electricity generation
From January to early August 2026, within the framework of the Ray of Hope project, 43 healthcare facilities began generating electricity independently. The total installed capacity of the commissioned solar power plants amounts to 3,365 kW.
At present, another 285 projects in medical institutions are at various stages of implementation.
The commissioning of 43 healthcare facilities was made possible thanks to international support. Specifically, 32 facilities were funded by Germany, 5 by Sweden, 4 by the United Kingdom, and 2 by the European Union.
The Ray of Hope program is a joint initiative of the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, implemented within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund under the coordination of the Energy Community Secretariat.
The goal of the program is to enhance the energy resilience of healthcare facilities by equipping them with solar panels, energy storage systems, and other equipment to ensure guaranteed electricity supply and uninterrupted operation even under difficult conditions.
