Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman set a principal task - to increase pensions of militaries from January 1, 2019 and to ensure automatic recalculation of pensions to other categories of retirees starting from March 1, 2019. The Head of Government said this to the newly appointed Head of the Pension Fund Yevhen Kapinus.
The Prime Minister congratulated Yevhen Kapinus on the appointment and emphasized the importance of ensuring stability and transparency of the Pension Fund and the pension system as a whole.
"You need to shortly conduct an audit of the Pension Fund and ensure the stable functioning of the pension system. The two most important tasks are: the Pension Fund should be ready to increase pensions from 1 January 2019 to military retirees and for the first time in the history to conduct a large-scale revaluation of pensions to all other categories of pensioners. It's a big job, but you have 4 months", the Head of Government stressed.
At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized that deshadowing of salaries remains a strategic task for the Pension Fund. "The task of the Pension Fund is not only to pay pensions to pensioners. We must take care of future retirees. I believe that the new Head (Pension Fund) will bring order to the pension system, and the work of the Pension Fund will be public and constructive", Volodymyr Groysman underscored.
