On November 1, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko took part in the opening of a documentary photography exhibition Ukraine and Poland: A Century of Neighborhood.

Pavlo Rozenko "The exhibition is dedicated to the anniversary of the restoration of the statehood of Ukraine and Poland and depicts our shared history, in which there were both glorious and tragic pages", said Pavlo Rozenko in his opening remarks.

"But we were together in an era of struggle for the restoration of our statehood, which has lasted for the past 100 years. No wonder the prominent Ukrainian poet Vasyl Stus, while in Russian concentration camps, was fond of the history of the Polish struggle against the Soviet occupying power. He expressed the hope that the success of the struggle between Poland and the Soviet Union would be a wonderful example for Ukrainians in their struggle against the despotism of the Soviet empire. And I again reiterate that among our people there is much more in common, more good memories than problematic issues. We have to look into the future, relying on the many positive things that exist in our long shared history", said the Vice Prime Minister.

Pavlo Rozenko congratulated the initiative of the Ukrainian and Polish public about a joint prayer at the graves of those killed from both sides, which was conducted on November 1 before opening of the exhibition. "And today's exhibition is another step towards such understanding and reconciliation", the Vice Prime Minister emphasized.
