First IDP family purchases housing with Government’s compensation under the eOselia program
The first internally displaced persons (IDP) family has purchased a home through the eOselia program. The family of Heorhii, who left Donetsk back in 2014, now owns a home. In Kyiv, Heorhii met his future wife, Olha, and together they are raising their daughter, Valeria. For several years, the family rented accommodation, but now, thanks to state support, they have their own home in the Kyiv suburb of Chaiky. Notably, the family submitted their application through the Diia platform.
Since September, the eOselia program has become more accessible for IDPs and residents of frontline territories. The state compensates 70% of the down payment for a mortgage, 70% of monthly loan payments for the first year, and covers document processing costs (up to UAH 40,000). These conditions were utilized by the family, who secured a loan from the SKY BANK.
“We aim to make housing affordable for more Ukrainians, especially those who lost their homes due to the war. We expect that this year, 9,500 IDP families and residents of frontline regions will receive loans under the program,” said Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, congratulating the family on their new home.
