Ukraine, which is suffering an open act of aggression from the RF in the Sea of Azov, expresses its commitment to restore and build up a civil defense system as soon as possible, which should be in effect in a special period. The Vice Prime Minister/ Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko emphasized during a meeting of the State Emergency Service operational headquarters.

"I once again want to reassure the Ukrainians of those areas where the martial law status was imposed. The Government is now implementing all necessary preventive measures aimed at protecting Ukrainian citizens from possible acts of aggression by the Russian Federation. Following the signing of the Presidential Decree on the imposition of the martial law in Ukraine and voting in the Parliament, the Government decided to transfer the unified national civil defense system to functioning in a special period. Therefore, we are now working on approving an action plan that will allow us to prepare all the necessary units and facilities. Implementation of the plan is a personal responsibility of both the authorities and local leaders", emphasized Hennadii Zubko.

The official said that during the martial law the Government gave the right to the SES to carry out inspections of civil protection objects. Also, on December 4-5, command-and-staff training on actions during a special period will take place in Ukraine.

"By combining efforts of central executive authorities, territorial authorities, as well as local governments, it is vital to achieve the necessary coordination in fulfilling the set tasks. We are ready at any moment to respond adequately and professionally to new challenges that can occur, including in emergencies", said Hennadii Zubko.

The Vice Prime Minister stressed that the imposition of the military defense status, as well as the readiness to carry out tasks for the protection of the population, is a civilized response of any European state on the actions of the aggressor.
