We are blocking another source of revenue for the aggressor state, says Yuliia Svyrydenko on the introduction of sanctions in the field of gambling
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed into force the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to impose sanctions against 120 individuals and 287 legal entities related to gambling. The sanctions list includes individuals and companies from russia, Cyprus, the UK, the Netherlands, Turkey, and other countries.
The proposals for the introduction of sanctions were previously elaborated and recommended for submission to the NSDC by the Interagency Working Group on the Implementation of the State Sanctions Policy chaired by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko.
"Our special services have done a lot of work to verify persons associated with the aggressor state who work in the gambling market, in particular in Ukraine. Among other things, through the exchange of information with our foreign partners, we have identified and proved the links between russian and foreign entities, and revealed the final beneficiaries of their activities.
In this way, we are cutting off another source of tax revenue for the russian budget. We expect that the sanctions imposed by Ukraine in this area will also be mirrored by our partners," said Yulia Svyrydenko.
Earlier, the Head of State introduced sectoral sanctions against all financial institutions, including banks, of the russian federation. The decision provides for the imposition of sanctions against: banks registered/domiciled in the russian federation, including the central bank of the aggressor state, non-bank credit organizations, investment funds, payment system operators, insurance companies, etc.
