Under the co-chairmanship of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk and Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of events in connection with the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor has taken place.
"The key task for us remains the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people by foreign states and international organizations. The whole world must understand that russia was and remains a criminal for whom genocide is an acceptable tool to achieve its own goals. After so many years, russia continues its brutal genocide, and not only against Ukrainians. Simultaneously, russia arranges famine in African countries by blocking the export of Ukrainian grain. We must redouble our efforts to ensure that this and other crimes of the aggressor will never happen again," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stressed.
Summarizing the meeting, the Organizing Committee approved the draft Action Plan for 2022-2023 in connection with the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was tasked to maximize the work on the preparation of resolutions in international organizations on the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide and the adoption of the relevant decision by the authorized bodies of foreign states.
