Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 18, 2022, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 12,815 (1,422 children out of this number, 464 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 29,538,475 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 15,053,125 people have been vaccinated. On January 18, 2022, 85,177 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 13,790 – CoronaVac vaccine, 61,991 – Comirnaty vaccine, 2,129 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 7,267.

Vaccination was carried out by 814 mobile immunization teams, 3,163 vaccination points and 431 vaccination centers. 

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 2,401 persons, 163 patients died, 5,413 persons recovered. There have been conducted 97,644 testings (50,298 using the PCR method, 6,290 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 41,056).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 3,780,903 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3,567,336 people recovered;
  • 98,712 people died;
  • 17,270,793 testings have been conducted.
