Ukraine's energy system operates stably and provides reliable electricity supply to consumers, despite consistently high energy consumption. This was emphasized by the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko at a briefing on January 18.
According to him, the power system has a sufficient reserve of capacity: at HPPs/PSPs and TPPs - more than 2,500 MW. The power reserve of nuclear generation is about 900 MW.
Meanwhile, there is a sufficient supply of energy for further sustainable passage of the autumn-winter period. For the second month in a row, there is observed a stable accumulation of coal in storage facilities. Coal reserves at TPPs and TPSs as of January 17, 2022, exceeded reserves of January 17 last year by 26%.
