  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of July 15, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 55,607 COVID-19 cases, 28,131 people recovered, 1,427 patients died. During the 24 hours, 836 new cases have been confirmed.

    The number of registered active cases as of July 15 is 26,049 people. The largest number of active patients per 100,000 population was registered in Lviv (241.5), Chernivtsi (222.9) and Zakarpattia (206.7) regions.

    Now 3,935 people are undergoing inpatient treatment. There are 93 people out of this number having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines. A total of 14,658 people needed hospitalization, 444 patients needed to undergo mechanical ventilation treatment.

    In total 3,967 cases among children and 7,540 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. 40,949 patients have been undergoing outpatient treatment.

    A total of 827,157 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method and 383,669 using ELISA method. During 24 hours, 13,675 samples were tested using PCR method.

    As of July 15, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 2,194 cases (1,623 recovered);
    • Volyn region – 3,117 (1,840 recovered);
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,155 cases (1,045 recovered);
    • Donetsk region - 767 cases (281 recovered);
    • Zhytomyr region – 1,550 cases (1,204 recovered);
    • Zakarpattia region – 4,112 cases (1,379);
    • Zaporizhia region – 631 cases (526);
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 3,178 cases (1,246);
    • Kirovohrad region - 674 cases (593);
    • Kyiv – 6,497 cases (2,160);
    • Kyiv region – 3,128 cases (2,054);
    • Lviv region – 7,425 cases (1,167);
    • Luhansk region - 97 cases (74);
    • Mykolaiv region - 494 cases (389);
    • Odesa region – 2,314 cases (1,031);
    • Poltava region - 337 cases (305);
    • Rivne region – 4,782 cases (3,101);
    • Sumy region – 346 (300);
    • Ternopil region – 2,292 (1,446);
    • Kharkiv region – 2,787 (1,508);
    • Kherson region – 205 (186);
    • Khmelnytsky region – 922 (778);
    • Chernivtsi region – 5,208 (2,998);
    • Cherkasy region – 771 (605);
    • Chernihiv region – 624 (292).

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
