Update on the spread and prevention of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of February 20, 2022, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 13,562 (1,254 children out of this number, 151 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign started on February 24, 2021. Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 31,497,378 vaccines have been made.

Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 15 680 363 people have been vaccinated. On February 20, 2022, 17 172 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 0 people got CoviShield vaccine, 2 580 – CoronaVac vaccine, 13 190 – Comirnaty vaccine, 118 – AstraZeneka, 0 – Janssen, Moderna – 1 284.

Vaccination was carried out by 333 mobile immunization teams, 1,580 vaccination points and 388 vaccination centers.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1 886 persons, 127 patients died, 13 904 persons recovered. There have been conducted 46 428 testings (17 065 using the PCR method, 2 272 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 27 091).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

  • 4 734 333 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
  • 3 952 363 people recovered;
  • 104 645 people died;
  • 19 390 438 testings have been conducted.

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of September 22, 2021, № 981 "On Amendments to Certain Acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine" amended the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of December 9, 2020 № 1236 "On introducing quarantine and restrictive anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of the territory of Ukraine of the acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2" (hereinafter - Resolution № 1236), extending the quarantine until December 31, 2021. At the same time, from September 23, 2021, a yellow level of epidemic danger will be established throughout the country.

The Ministry of Health reminds that following three simple rules of anti-epidemic safety - keeping a distance, wearing a mask and using hand sanitizers - saves lives.
