  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of May 7, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 8,404 (353 children out of this number, 185 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 328,436.

    Since the beginning of the immunization campaign, 821,770 people have been vaccinated. On May 6, 2021, 37,967 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of this number 680 people got CoviShield vaccine, 2,888 – CoronaVac vaccine, 2,142 – Comirnaty vaccine, 32,257 - AstraZeneka.

    During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 3,080 persons, 374 patients died, 19,453 persons recovered. There have been conducted 94,479 testings (39,748 using the PCR method, 14,177 using the ELISA method and research by rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 – 40,554).

    During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

    • 2,105,428 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;
    • 1,731,162 people recovered;
    • 45,830 people died;
    • 9,594,857 testings have been conducted.
