  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 19, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 96,403 COVID-19 cases, 49,737 people recovered, 2,144 patients died. During the 24 hours, 1,967 new cases have been officially confirmed.

    A total of 1,335,000 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method. During the 24 hours, 812 patients have recovered.

    As of August 19, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 3, 323 cases;
    • Volyn region – 4,878 cases;
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,816 cases;
    • Donetsk region – 1,122 cases;
    • Zhytomyr region – 2,536 cases;
    • Zakarpattia region – 6,552 cases;
    • Zaporizhia region – 1,179 cases;
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 7,122 cases;
    • Kirovohrad region - 748 cases;
    • Kyiv – 10,945 cases;
    • Kyiv region – 4,685 cases;
    • Lviv region – 12,448 cases;
    • Luhansk region - 194 cases;
    • Mykolaiv region - 857 cases;
    • Odesa region – 5,281 cases;
    • Poltava region - 582 cases;
    • Rivne region – 7,953 cases;
    • Sumy region – 1,023;
    • Ternopil region – 4,001;
    • Kharkiv region – 6,607;
    • Kherson region – 312;
    • Khmelnytsky region – 1,678;
    • Chernivtsi region – 8,108;
    • Cherkasy region – 1,175;
    • Chernihiv region – 1,278.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
