Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of January 18, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 3,034 (107 children out of this number, 87 healthcare workers) new cases of COVID-19 infection. The number of active cases makes up 271,651.

During the last 24 hours, there have been hospitalized 1,304 persons, 67 patients died, 5,236 persons recovered. There have been conducted 13,247 testing (10,401 using the PCR method and 2,846 using the ELISA method).

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

• 1,163,716 persons contracted COVID-19 infection;

• 871,196 people recovered;
• 20,869 people died;
• 5,964,388 testing have been conducted.

The number of people with coronavirus disease in regions:

Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.

The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
