"The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has developed its own technical specification "Modular body armor". Prior to that, the Armed Forces and military formations in Ukraine purchased bulletproof vests on commercial terms. Now such requirements have been established by the Defense Ministry for the first time", said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Taran.

According to him, the technical specification applies the requirements of state and military standards. In addition, the US Army Standard (NIJ Standard-0101.06) is used to verify the conformity of the bulletproof vest. In addition, the Ministry of Defense has provided all the necessary tests and strict conditions for suppliers.

"According to this documentation, in 2021, the purchase of bulletproof vests for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be carried out. This is a general military body armor designed for daily combat missions. Its main consumer is the Land Forces. To perform tasks by special forces or paratroopers in 2021, we will develop a lightweight model," commented Andrii Taran.
