  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of August 20, in Ukraine there have been officially confirmed 98,537 COVID-19 cases, 50,441 people recovered, 2,184 patients died. During the 24 hours, 2,134 new cases have been officially confirmed.

    A total of 1,356,698 samples in Ukraine were tested using PCR method. During the 24 hours, 704 patients have recovered.

    As of August 20, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region – 3, 405 cases;
    • Volyn region – 4,929 cases;
    • Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,873 cases;
    • Donetsk region – 1,156 cases;
    • Zhytomyr region – 2,597 cases;
    • Zakarpattia region – 6,662 cases;
    • Zaporizhia region – 1,213 cases;
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 7,290 cases;
    • Kirovohrad region - 749 cases;
    • Kyiv – 11,172 cases;
    • Kyiv region – 4,727 cases;
    • Lviv region – 12,631 cases;
    • Luhansk region - 204 cases;
    • Mykolaiv region - 893 cases;
    • Odesa region – 5,408 cases;
    • Poltava region - 594 cases;
    • Rivne region – 8,091 cases;
    • Sumy region – 1,078;
    • Ternopil region – 4,116;
    • Kharkiv region – 6,849;
    • Kherson region – 321;
    • Khmelnytsky region – 1, 768;
    • Chernivtsi region – 8,297;
    • Cherkasy region – 1,200;
    • Chernihiv region – 1,314.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available. The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories.
