According to the decision of the Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies in seven regions of Ukraine additional hospitals will engage in providing medical care to patients with coronavirus disease. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko during an online briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers.

"Currently, the regions report not only about the number of patients in hospitals, but also the number of patients with suspected coronavirus disease. We can see a significant increase in bed occupancy in seven regions of the country. These include the city of Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Rivne regions," Viktor Liashko said.

According to him, it is in these areas that the number of hospitals providing care to patients with COVID-19 will be increased, and additional beds will be equipped.

"The National Health Service of Ukraine will sign contracts with these hospitals so that everyone who needs medical care receives it on time, and hospitals have the resource to pay to medical workers and make the necessary procurements," stressed Viktor Liashko.

The Deputy Minister also said that according to the decision of the TES and Emergency Commission, at the request of the Ministry of Health, all local governments should provide at least 80% of beds with oxygen supply, as oxygen therapy is among the effective treatments for COVID-19.
