In Ukraine there has already been dismantled 46 illegal petrol filling stations and seized 1.3 thousand tons of fuel and lubricants to the tune of UAH 33.4 million. 18 criminal proceedings have also been initiated.
“Ukraine faces a problem of illegal gas stations. Recently, I have commissioned the State Fiscal Service, together with law enforcement and other authorities, to resolve this issue by January 9, 2020. As of today, 46 such filling stations have been closed. And work in this direction is underway. All filling stations either will operate under licenses or won’t work at all,” said Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk.
He added that 31 entities have already applied for obtaining licenses.
It should be noted that the topic of the illegal fuel market is among the urgent problems the Government is engaged in solving. This issue was also raised by representatives of the Ukrainian petrol filling stations network at a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier this week.
During the meeting with the Head of State, the participants also discussed the possibility of reducing fuel prices due to the strengthening of the hryvnia. In particular, it is about reducing the real price on display boards instead of the traditional increase in special offers in the network loyalty programs.
