In 2019 the state will provide housing for more than 1,700 orphaned children and children deprived of parental care, as well as persons belonging to them. This was announced by Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovska during trip to Zhytomyr region.
"We managed to allocate this year almost UAH 126 million for the purchase of housing for orphans and children deprived of parental care. This will allow to offset the value of nearly 350 accomodations. Taking into account these additional funds, in total in 2019 the state will provide housing for more than 1,700 people," Yulia Sokolovska stressed.
Within the framework of the visit the Minister visited one apartment bought this year for an orphaned child who has been on the waiting list for housing since 2007. In total, in 2019, more than 50 orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as persons belonging to them will receive their own housing in Zhytomyr region. The amount of compensation for one apartment is on average about UAH 300,000.
