Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba took part in a conference call with the President of Ukraine, during which the progress of restoration works in the regions was discussed, including the elimination of russian strikes on the railway.

russia continues targeted attacks on civilian railway infrastructure. At Konotop station, an enemy drone struck a locomotive that was due to be coupled to a passenger train. Near Tereschenska station in Sumy region, the track was damaged, resulting in temporary restrictions on train movements to allow restoration works.

In addition, an enemy UAV hit a service vehicle carrying railway workers to repair a section of track. One worker was injured and hospitalised with shrapnel wounds; the rest of the team was safely evacuated.

In Chernihiv region, at Snovsk station, a diesel train was damaged in an attack. The fire was quickly extinguished. Restoration works are under way at all affected sections, and train services are being maintained.

“russia is deliberately striking civilian logistics and facilities that sustain the country’s daily life. Despite this, the railway infrastructure continues to function, emergency and restoration services respond promptly, and train movements remain stable,” Oleksii Kuleba stressed.

Separately, the meeting addressed the situation in Kyiv, where efforts to eliminate the aftermath of emergencies in residential buildings are continuing. A total of 176 emergency restoration teams – 840 technicians, including 83 teams from Ukrzaliznytsia, as well as personnel from other regions of Ukraine – are involved in the works.

At the same time, efforts to bolster the energy resilience of communities continue.

“We are systematically building up reserves of energy equipment. In recent weeks alone, in cooperation with international partners and the Government, communities have received equipment with a total capacity of nearly 100 MW. This is critically important for getting through difficult periods and ensuring people have access to basic services,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised.

Ukraine continues systematic work to restore damaged infrastructure, strengthen community resilience, and ensure the uninterrupted operation of critically important systems. Even under constant security threats, emergency services and responsible enterprises are operating in enhanced mode to guarantee people access to basic services and stable transport movement.
