The Government has decided to reallocate UAH 231 million in subvention funds to complete the works on equipping school shelters in 11 regions. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

“The Government is directing funds to 22 projects that are at the final stage and have been completed by at least 60% in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Kherson and Khmelnytskyi regions,” the Prime Minister reported.

This will enable the completion of construction this year and ensure safe conditions for offline or blended learning for 10,000 Ukrainian children in schools, military lycées, naval lycées, and lycées with enhanced military and physical training.

“Safety in education is a Government priority. That is why, in this year’s state budget overall, we have allocated UAH 5 billion for school shelters, primarily in frontline regions. We are doing everything possible to enable children to return to in-person learning as quickly as possible wherever the security situation allows,” Yulia Svyrydenko emphasised.
