Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov met on 30 December with ambassadors of Ukraine and counsellors of embassies in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, France, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

During the event, the parties discussed key issues of ensuring the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens and supporting their integration into local communities. In fact, Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic alone account for 60% of Ukrainians who have been granted temporary protection in the EU due to the war.

“I would like to emphasise that integration does not mean assimilation. Ukraine must do everything possible to ensure that Ukrainians living abroad retain their identity. We are grateful to our partner countries for their help. At the same time, I would like to remind every citizen that Ukraine is waiting for you at any time,” said Oleksiy Chernyshov.

The Deputy Prime Minister also thanked Ukrainian diplomats for their work.

“There are many interesting joint projects ahead aimed at strengthening ties between Ukrainians. The assistance of our diplomatic missions will be important in these processes,” Oleksiy Chernyshov stressed.

According to him, he is planning working visits to the above countries in the near future to meet with Ukrainian communities, government officials, and local authorities to discuss key issues and coordinate further actions.
