The training camp for the participants of the Invictus Games 2025 national team has started in Kyiv. The competitions, which will be held in February next year in Canada, will once again confirm the unwavering strength of our people. All the team members who participated in the selection and represented Ukraine at the U.S. Air Force Trials 2024 among wounded service members and veterans have already proved that their will is stronger than any obstacles.
Oleksandr Porkhun, Acting Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, also welcomed the members of the Invictus Games national team. In the evening, he attended a friendly wheelchair basketball match.
It was an unforgettable event with four great teams, incredible emotions and steadfast veterans. This sport is over 80 years old and was founded by American veterans in hospitals. Its goal is to restore team spirit and enable veterans with spinal cord injuries to feel true unity.
“This is another confirmation that life goes on and our priorities in life should be focused on winning. We are proud of our veterans who continue to fight and inspire. Let the Invictus Games become an important part of the ‘Olympic Country’ sports and recreation event, as well as a source of pride for the entire nation,” said Oleksandr Porkhun.
