On the occasion of the Medical Worker’s Day, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal congratulated healthcare professionals in Kyiv on their professional holiday and presented them with valuable gifts.

“Every day you save the health and lives of our people. Every day you create miracles. Every day you show courage and perform feats,” the Head of Government said.

According to the Prime Minister, since the invasion, russians have damaged or destroyed more than 1,800 medical facilities in Ukraine. The most egregious case is the destruction of Okhmatdyt in Kyiv.

At the same time, he stressed that rebuilding outpatient clinics and hospitals was one of the priorities for recovery. 885 facilities have already been fully or partially restored, and this work is ongoing.

“Every day that doctors work in a hospital, clinic or dispensary is a small victory of good over evil. Thank you for your work. For the sake of every person, for the sake of the country, for the sake of our common future! We will always remember those who sacrificed their lives to save others,” said Denys Shmyhal.
