The Government is expanding business support programmes and encouraging local authorities to co-finance them. Next year, small and medium-sized enterprises will be able to receive 15,000 development grants from the state. This was stated by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, in her speech at the XVII Ukrainian Municipal Forum.

“Ukraine’s resilience lies in the resilience of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises and local communities. Next year, the Government will expand business support programmes and we encourage local communities to co-finance them. In particular, we have budgeted UAH 18 billion for 2024 to continue providing affordable loans to domestic entrepreneurs under the 5-7-9% programme. We will continue grant programmes for starting or expanding businesses. Next year we will be able to provide 14,000 micro-grants to small businesses – up to UAH 250,000 – and 1,000 grants to processing enterprises, which can receive up to UAH 8 million for development,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.

According to the First Deputy Prime Minister, a programme of partial compensation for the production of agricultural machinery will also be introduced next year to support domestic machine-builders and stimulate their development. For the first time, the budget includes UAH 1 billion to expand the network of industrial parks, where entrepreneurs can enjoy a range of benefits. Local authorities can also participate in the creation of industrial parks. This will allow them to develop the economic sectors that are needed in a particular community. It also means new jobs for the region and additional revenue for the local budget.

In addition, the eOselia mortgage loan programme will continue next year, stimulating the development of housing and related industries. In a number of regions, local authorities have already started to compensate mortgages for certain categories of citizens, including regional compensation programmes in Chernivtsi, Mykolaiv, Zakarpattia, Odesa regions and the city of Kryvyi Rih.
