Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko chaired the ninth meeting of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of Regional Resilience Plans. The main focus was on the practical implementation of the work.

1. Protection of critical infrastructure
According to the Head of Government, the first phase of construction to protect critical infrastructure facilities must be completed by June 1.

“Together with the heads of regional state administrations, we updated the list of facilities under the Regional Resilience Plans and approved further work in accordance with the ‘Fortress Country’ concept,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.

UAH 22.1 billion has already been allocated for the implementation of physical protection measures, of which UAH 8.9 billion has already been spent. The funds are being directed toward the completion of transitional facilities and the advance funding of new facilities identified in the plans.

Separately, participants discussed additional protection for substations against enemy FPV drones.

2. Connection of modular boiler plants and cogeneration units

In early April, the Government allocated UAH 424.8 million to the regions for the connection of 70 existing modular boiler plants in local communities, with a total capacity of 316 MW. Installation of the equipment will begin on 1 June.

In addition, yesterday the Government allocated a further UAH 3 billion from the State Budget’s reserve fund for the procurement and installation of 216 new modular boiler plants in the regions and in Kyiv.

3. Distributed generation and backup power

Since 1 March, 319 MW of distributed generation has already been commissioned as part of the Resilience Plans. Installation has also begun on gas-fired power generation units with a total capacity of a further 541 MW.
By the end of the year, the Government plans to add a total of 1.5 GW of new capacity.

Separately, the meeting participants discussed the provision of backup power sources for heating and water supply facilities. The greatest need currently remains in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Sumy regions.
The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development to keep this issue under constant review.

“Systematic preparation for winter remains one of the Government’s key priorities,” emphasised Yulia Svyrydenko.
