On 27 January, Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi held a telephone conversation with Minister of Culture and Media of Montenegro Tamara Vujović.
Mykola Tochytskyi thanked his Montenegrin counterpart for creating appropriate opportunities for the development of Ukrainian identity, culture and traditions for Ukrainians living in Montenegro.
During the conversation, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine stressed the importance of exchanging experience in the field of culture, which is of great importance for the national security of any country.
Mykola Tochytskyi noted that Ukraine’s experience of cultural resilience during the full-scale russian invasion was quite unique, and Ukraine was ready to share it with its partners, in particular with Montenegro.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation and support joint initiatives that would contribute to the development of cultural relations between Ukraine and Montenegro.
Tamara Vujović confirmed the participation of the Montenegrin side in the Ukraine Culture Conference “Cooperation for Resilience”. As part of this event, representatives of partner countries, international organisations and the Ukrainian authorities will discuss a roadmap for achieving concrete results in the protection and development of Ukraine’s cultural sector. The conference will serve as a platform for identifying priorities for the protection of cultural heritage, as well as discussing common threats and countering illicit trafficking in cultural property.
