The decentralization reform put in place in 2014 allows to grant powers to consolidated communities and to strengthen regions, thereby regional authorities by using these resources will only benefit. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman  issued this statement in Uzhgorod, while commenting on the issue of the formation of consolidated communities in Zakarpattya region.

"The process was kicked off in 2014 and  we have good results. Consolidated communities  are existing in Zakarpattya, there are also those who want to unite, but there is a need for a common understanding. I hear arguments from all sides. We will discuss all the pros and cons", the Prime Minister stressed. " I do not stand for revocation of local self-governments decisions, however Zakarpattya will become stronger by using opportunities offered by decentralization".

Volodymyr Groysman recalled that the amalgamation of communities and the delegation of powers and resources to the communities are being implemented in order to ensure that consolidated communities are capable to provide high-quality services, build roads, and offer transparent and fast conditions for learning by minimizing contacts with officials.
