Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity held the Second Social Change Leaders Forum in Lviv
The Second Social Change Leaders Forum, dedicated to Social Worker's Day 2026, took place in Lviv. The event brought together representatives of the Government, regional administrations, local self-government bodies, international organizations, the civil sector and volunteers to discuss the transformation of social support in Ukraine.
The participants were addressed by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy – Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna: "For many people, a conversation with you is where their experience of interacting with the state begins. Trust in the state depends on your attentiveness, professionalism and ability to find solutions."
The Forum discussed how the state, communities and partners can join forces so that people receive the support they need at different stages, with the ultimate goal of enabling them to lead an active and independent life.
"Behind the professional duties of social workers there is always something more: the ability to notice a person, to hear them and to sincerely want to help. In our work, no one is alone. Sometimes it is human presence that helps a person take the first step. And then go all the way," said Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Denys Uliutin.
The laureates of the special award "Social Change Leaders – 2026" were honored at the event.
This year's Forum was held with the support of the Lviv City Council, the Lviv Regional Military Administration and ISAR Ednannia.
"The best solutions in the social sphere are born from cooperation between the state, communities and civil society organizations, when everyone contributes their experience and understanding of people's needs," said Executive Director of ISAR Ednannia Volodymyr Sheihus.
The Forum also presented the Ministry of Social Policy's photo project "Dignified Care" (Hidni turboty), dedicated to people who support others every day and those who receive that support. It is also a way to express gratitude to those whose daily work often goes unnoticed.
