Local governments will have access to reuse design projects free of charge to implement their own reconstruction projects. The development of the model projects is being carried out under the Ukraine Early Recovery Program (UERP), a framework loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The model projects include:
"The use of standard designs will save money and time for the development of project documentation for the reconstruction facilities. They take into account modern safety, barrier-free and energy efficiency requirements. Each such building has a dual-purpose underground room with the protective properties of a radiation shelter. In addition, they can be easily adapted to the needs of a particular community, and thus speed up the construction as much as possible," said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.
The development of the projects began in 2022, with a series of working meetings and consultations held by representatives of ministries, regional and local authorities, design and expert organizations during this period. By August 31, 2023, the projects must undergo a state expert review, after which they will be available on the website of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.
The reuse projects were developed by the Ukrainian company Creative Architectural Studio of A. Pashenko ( A. Pashenko Architects) in cooperation with Cowater International at the initiative of the Ministry for Restoration and with financial support from the European Union and the EIB.
The reuse projects will be applied on the basis of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1160 dated October 14, 2022 "On Approval of the Procedure for Development, Expert Evaluation and Application of Reuse Projects in Construction and Amendments to the Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 560 dated May 11, 2011 and No. 554 dated May 23, 2011".
