Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture and the DOK-ING demining equipment manufacturer ink memorandum of cooperation
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine and the Croatian company DOK-ING have signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining. The document was signed during the Ukraine Mine Action Partner Coordination Workshop in Switzerland by Ihor Bezkaravayny, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine, and Gordan Pešić, CEO of DOK-ING.
The document aims to formalize and strengthen the cooperation that has been ongoing between Ukraine and DOK-ING since 2022. Cooperation under the memorandum will focus on developing the humanitarian demining market, supporting Ukrainian operators, implementing modern robotic solutions, and training specialized professionals. The parties will pay special attention to developing approaches for working in forested areas contaminated with explosive ordnance, including fire risk management and environmental safety.
DOK-ING is a Croatian manufacturer of robotic systems for humanitarian demining, which are widely used in Ukraine today. The company draws on the unique experience of Croatia, which recently announced the complete demining of its territory after more than 30 years of work.
This experience is now being adapted to the realities in Ukraine—which are significantly larger in scale and more complex.
Deputy Minister Ihor Bezkaravayny noted: “Humanitarian demining is a prerequisite for economic recovery and the safety of communities. Today, 69 DOK-ING machines are in operation with the State Emergency Service, the State Special Transport Service, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, carrying out real tasks on the ground. We are grateful to the company for transferring its technology to Ukraine free of charge. This has enabled us to strengthen our demining capabilities. The signing of this memorandum is a step toward the further development of this cooperation and a systematic approach to demining.”
DOK-ING CEO Gordan Pešić emphasized: “We have invested significant resources in localization in Ukraine—we have a local partner, and we are developing capabilities for maintenance, repair, and partial production of vehicle components. It is important to us that this presence contributes to effective demining, economic development, job creation, and knowledge transfer. We see our role in Ukraine not only as a supplier of equipment, but also as a long-term partner—both technological and operational—working together with the Government and Ukrainian operators".
