
Ministry of Economy: During the week, Ukrainians have spent more than UAH 88 million on drugs under the ePidtrymka program
During the week, Ukrainians spent more than UAH 88 million to purchase medicines under the ePidtrymka (eSupport – ed.) program. Opportunity to buy drugs under the program is available from January 24 for citizens aged over 60. One can buy any drugs approved for use in Ukraine, both in pharmacies and online pharmacies.
“Currently, more than 7,350,000 people have used the ePidtrymka program. In total, UAH 7.35 billion has been transferred to Ukrainians' cards since the launch of the program. Citizens have already spent almost UAH 2 billion from the funds received,” said Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksandr Hryban.
Thus, the most popular directions of expenses were:
- bookstores - UAH 705 million;
- cinemas - UAH 488 million;
- theaters, concerts and entertainment services - UAH 249 million
- railway and air passenger transportation - UAH 242 million;
- sports - UAH 171 million;
- medicines – UAH 88 million.
It should be noted that the ePidtrymka program initiated by the President of Ukraine is aimed at encouraging people to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and supporting those sectors of the economy that have suffered the most from quarantine restrictions.
According to the terms of the program, all adult citizens of Ukraine who have passed the full course of vaccination against COVID-19 can receive UAH 1,000. The funds are provided for 4 months from the date of receipt, one can spend them both online and offline (as cashless payment through the company's terminal).
The official start of the program took place on December 19, 2021. The program will last a year - until December 18, 2022, and will be implemented in several stages. In the first stage, the funds will be received through the Diia application. In the second stage (II-III quarter of 2022) there will be offered an alternative offline mechanism, which is currently being elaborated. People who do not have smartphones will be able to apply for help offline.
