On October 7, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov chaired an introductory meeting of the Committee on Digital Transformation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Participants of the event, notable representatives of the Ministry and MPs, discussed submitted to the Verkhovna Rada draft laws on electronic public registers, on data protection in information and telecommunication networks and on the basic principles of harmonization and development of the national information and communications sector. Moreover, they considered future legislative initiatives, in particular, aimed to create favorable conditions for the development of the IT sector in Ukraine, to shape a national policy in the field of Smart City technologies, to develop satellite communications, to implement projects on digital competences, to enshrine citizens' digital rights in the Constitution and much more.
“At a meeting, we had a clear understanding that we are one team, that we have a shared vision of the implementation of the planned digitization projects in Ukraine. There is a clear plan of action by the end of this year and for the following three years, so we are moving forward”, summed up Mykhailo Fedorov.
Following the meeting of the Committee, it was decided to summon monthly meetings of the Ministry's leadership with MPs for reporting and elaboration of further common steps.
