The systematic increase in wages and pensions is a targeted policy designed to  overcome poverty that the incumbent  Government has been conducting in recent years. Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko announced on the air of the ZIK TV channel.

"The most pressing problem of Ukraine that has raised not today and not yesterday, but  over a period of 20-25 years is poverty among the working population, when the salary of the person who works does not even allow him to go beyond the poverty line. But only in the last few years the size of the minimum wage has grown in dollar terms threefold: from $ 50 to $ 150", the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Pavlo Rozenko noted that the average wage last year exceeded UAH 10,000"At the beginning of last year, both the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Ukraine said that the core objective in 2018  to raise  average salary  up to UAH 10,000. According to the data received in December 2018, we saw that the average wage made up about UAH 10, 500. There was a lot of skepticism, but we did it ", the Deputy Prime Minister stressed, noting that at the same time the Government managed to maintain the stability of prices and national currency.

"The second part of this issue concerns  elimination of poverty among pensioners. I must say that recent initiatives aimed to raise pensions demonstrate our commitment to tackling poverty in all fields of life", the Deputy Prime Minister said.
