Ukraine's national idea should be to build a strong, economically developed and successful Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said, speaking at the forum "Ostroh Forum 2019. National Security of Ukraine: Synergy of Economics and Education". The event took place at the National University of Ostroh Academy. The Head of Government visited the institution and took part in the forum as part of his trip to the Rivne region.
The PM stressed that the history of the restoration of Ostroh Academy, which had used to be one of the leading educational institutions in Eastern Europe in the 16th century, and then had lost its status for many years, largely resembles the history of Ukraine. Both the state and the Academy experienced times of highs and lows. However, the faith in the future and the belief in success have united people, and now Ukraine has a leading educational institution, and the state itself is being rebuilt.
"The national idea for us is to build up a successful, prosperous and powerful state", said Volodymyr Groysman. "We can talk about our claims for regional leadership. We have everything we need, and, most importantly, our human capital."
The Prime Minister noted that the development of education in this context plays a crucial role. The development gives impetus to the strengthening of the country and the achievement of the goals of ensuring high standards of living and becoming a participant in the global system of collective security.
The Head of Government placed a special emphasis on the participation of the youth in all processes. "When they say that you, young people, are our future, you are underestimated. The youth is our present. It is important that young people are active today, participate in social life, form themselves as individuals. Without the youth in Ukraine, the quality of life will be brought to naught", Volodymyr Groysman emphasized.
According to the Prime Minister, the transformations being currently implemented in Ukraine are difficult and long-term. And the threats facing the country are significant. "Our enemy today is doing everything in order to make us be skeptical about our success. I am saying that we will achieve success. We will succeed! I believe that together we will make Ukraine strong, we will restore historical justice. We'll be on the winning side", the Prime Minister underscored.
