The best partner for the state in economic development is honest and transparent business, and the Government of Ukraine sees as its objective on the path of building up the state the creating all the necessary conditions for doing business on the good faith principles be of maximum efficiency.
This was emphasized by Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Olexandr Saienko on opening the annual General Assembly of the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC) "Global Perspectives of Compliance in Ukraine", April 18 in Kyiv.
"It is critical that all decisions made today by the Government of Ukraine, the Parliament, are often elaborated in cooperation with the business. Through this collaboration, we have introduced a transparent system of public procurement, we are fighting smuggling and counterfeiting, and much more. We want that in the life of our national business there were fewer obstacles, and you meet with officials few and far between. Therefore, the issues of deregulation, electronic services, the transfer of reporting in online are key", the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers stressed.
Apart from that, the Minister accentuated on the issue of the systemic fight against corruption, stressing that it is relevant to fight not only the consequences of corruption but to minimize its risks in a lot of spheres as well.
"Another urgent issue is decentralization. Today, the largest share of the personal income tax remains at the regional level, local authorities can settle the issues of construction, infrastructure development. Therefore, it is critical that UNIC also engage local authorities in joint activities, because the profitability of local budgets depends on the activity of entrepreneurs, on how much local government can leverage investment in its region", he said.
Olexandr Saienko also dwelt on the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, adding that all conditions of the Agreement should be used to the maximum for the businesses benefits, and this is on the agenda of the Government.
"A network like UNIC is an unprecedented case when business is united and says," We do not want corruption, we want transparency, we want to be responsible in doing business." And on this way, the Government will act as a reliable partner fotr the businesses", summed up the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
