On April 17, in Tunisia (the Republic of Tunisia), during the Third Meeting of the Ukrainian-Tunisian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Tunisia on cooperation in the sector of the youth policy, physical culture and sports was signed.
For the first time in the history of Ukraine's independence, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the aforementioned sectors with the country of not only the Maghreb region but also of the entire continent of Africa.
From the Ukrainian side, the Memorandum was signed by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of Ukraine on European Integration Mykola Movchan, from the Tunisian side - by the Secretary of State to the Minister for Foreign Affairs in Charge of Economic Diplomacy of the Republic of Tunisia, Mr. Hatem Ferjani.
The Memorandum was elaborated with the purpose of intensifying Ukrainian-Tunisian cooperation in the youth policy, physical culture and sports and providing the necessary legal conditions for the development of bilateral Ukrainian-Tunisian relations in the youth policy, physical culture and sports through cooperation of state bodies, public youth organizations and organizations of physical culture and sports, federations of sports of the two countries.
