The Public Control Council at the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) was established on the basis of an open and transparent competition. The Council comprises of representatives of public associations, whose statutory activities are related to the protection of the rights and freedoms of patients and the promotion of medicine.
The Government at its sitting on October 9 approved the composition of the Public Control Council at the National Health Service.
The Council is targeted to ensure public control over the activities of the NHSU and will represent the interests of patients.
The Public Control Council under the NHSU was established on the basis of an open and transparent competition. It includes 15 people. These are representatives of public associations whose statutory activities are related to the satisfaction and protection of the rights and freedoms of patients, the promotion of medicine, the provision of medical services, the circulation of medicines and other public relations for the provision of medical services.
Andrii Vilenskyy, Head of the NHSU: “The National Health Service works in the interests of the patient. The Medical Guarantees Program based on the principle of universal coverage of medical services. This means that all citizens or persons equated to them, regardless of age, political, religious and other beliefs, gender, social origin and registered place of residence, should have equal access to quality medical care. Our task for 2021 is to develop and improve the existing packages of medical services under the Medical Guarantees Program. I hope that the cooperation between the Public Control Council and the NHSU will be fruitful and effective for the interests of patients.”
