Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze held a quarterly meeting with Deputy Ministers for European Integration on progress in implementing the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and plans for 2019.

Attendees focused on assessing progress and analyzing a number of problematic issues faced by the ministries in the process of elaborating legislative proposals for Parliament, discussed issues pertaining to Ukraine's sectoral integration with the European Union, in particular, developments towards integration into the energy and digital markets of the EU, implementation of the roadmap for Ukraine's accession to the joint transit procedure EU / EFTA and the need to sign the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA).

"2018 year was important for us, we have done a lot towards implementation of the Association Agreement. We have a positive assessment of the implementation of the Agreement from the European Union. But at the same time, there are still many tasks that require consolidated efforts from the Government, ministries, and the Parliament ", Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze stressed.

She added that according to the results of last year, the progress of fulfillment of obligations envisaged in the Association Agreement made up 52%.

"This is a better indicator than we had in 2017, especially if we take into account the fact that we are currently fulfilling some of the tasks that were planned earlier. The overall progress of fulfilling of all obligations encapsulated in the Agreement is 42%, and each ministry knows about the areas of work needed to be done to increase these indicators, " the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

She recalled that according to the results of the EU-Ukraine Association Council and the EU-Ukraine Summit last year, it was decided to continue the dialogue in 2019 on strengthening cooperation between the parties in the fields of energy, customs cooperation, the digital market and the area of justice, freedom and security.

Following the meeting, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze instructed the ministries to speed up work on  elaborating and submitting draft laws on European integration to the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration.
