The essential task of the Coordinating Council on the implementation of the Strategy of Communication in the field of European integration for 2018-2021, established by the decision of the Government on July 18, is to increase the efficiency of communication in this area. This was announced by Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, commenting on the adoption of the resolution "On the Coordinating Council for the Implementation of the Communication Strategy in the sector of European Integration for 2018-2021".

"The Coordination Council should, first of all, improve the situation with raising awareness of the population about Ukraine's progress on the path towards European integration, since the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU is our principal objective on the way of comprehensive reforms, which, starting from 2014, our country has been following", she noted.

The Coordinating Council Regulation specifies its main tasks, namely: ensuring coordination of the executive authorities' activities for the implementation of the Strategy and implementation of the plan of measures for its implementation; promotion of effective cooperation of local authorities with mass media at all levels; providing recommendations on information releases aimed at disseminating information and raising public awareness about the processes of European integration; assistance in attracting businesses and educational institutions, information centers, libraries, etc. to disseminate information on topical issues of European integration and the results of the implementation of the Association Agreement. Ivanna Klimpush-Tsintsadze emphasized that the realization of these and other tasks will, primarily, increase the awareness of Ukrainians about the European integration processes, because, according to the polls, most Ukrainians do not know about the EU programs in Ukraine.
