While on a working visit to Dnipro city, Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, took part in the forum "Unity and Restoration of Luhansk Region". The event was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the formation of Luhansk region.
The forum brought together heads of the regional military administrations, namely Artem Lysohor of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak of Dnipro Regional Military Administration and Pavlo Kyrylenko of Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
The event also brought together representatives of government institutions, international foundations, members of the Ukrainian parliament and renowned natives of Luhansk region.
Luhansk region is one of the most affected by russian aggression. A large part of its territory has been under occupation for 9 years. Therefore, the restoration of the region will require a special approach and attention from the state, said Iryna Vereshchuk.
The forum aims to unite the efforts of the participants and identify priority areas in preparing for the de-occupation and reintegration of Luhansk region. Only through joint efforts of local and central authorities, as well as NGOs and international partners, can the result be achieved.
"People should be at the centre of the restoration of the de-occupied territories. This includes creating conditions for the safe return of IDPs to their homes, as well as the formation of a personnel reserve. After all, motivated and patriotic fellow countrymen will be involved in the reintegration of the Luhansk region," the Deputy Prime Minister is convinced.
